1851 Census of Canada East, Canada West, Nova Scotia and New Brunswick

According to Library and Archives Canada, the 1851 Census marked the second collection of statistics for the Province of Canada. Although it was the 1851 Census, Canada West (present-day Ontario) did not start its collection of data until January 12, 1852. The surviving paper records were microfilmed in 1955 and the originals destroyed.
