In the images at left taken from the 1921 Census of Canada, Catherine Bernard (nee Papineau), age 90, is listed above other members of her household: son Paul (46) and daughter-in-law Teresa Bernard (30); their children Irene (11), Russell (7), Harriet (5), and Hannah (1); son Mathew Bernard (55); and his children, Edward (17), Gertrude (15), and Gabriel (10). Anahareo's sister, Johanna, married in 1919 and is therefore no longer part of this household.

Angela Benway, age 77, who is recorded as Catherine Bernard's sister-in-law, is believed to be Anahareo's maternal grandmother, Angelique Ockiping, who had by that point married Abraham Benoit). Missing from the household is Paul's daughter Mary Agnes, who was 2 when the 1911 Census was taken; she is likely to have passed away in the interim.

It is not known how Mary Riley, age 16, who is recorded as a Catherine Bernard's granddaughter, is related to the family.

Murphy and Decaire Family Census

In the images at left taken from the 1921 Census of Canada, three households believed to be related to Anahareo are listed.

The first is the household of Anahareo's sister, Joanna Murphy (Johanna Bernard) (20) and her husband, a clerk named Harry Murphy (39). They have a one-year-old daughter, Natalie (though the name appears to be written as "Nancy").

In 1925, Anahareo will be called home from Camp Wabikon upon the death of her then five-year-old niece, Natalie.

Slightly farther down on the page is the household of Anahareo's 65-year old Aunt Elizabeth. At this time, there is only one son, John (22), remaining in her household.

Above Joanna's household (not highlighted), are James and Maggie McDonald and their two daughters, Ellen and Dolphine. Maggie is believed to be a misspelling of "Aggie", or Agnes Decaire, and the daughter of Anahareo's Aunt Elizabeth.
